If your website/ip has shown up on the UCEPROTECTL3 blacklist and you want to know what Dreamhost has to say in response to this. Please have a look at the message below. I contacted my hosting provider in regards to my website showing up on this blacklist. As you can see, most hosting providers won’t pay the money to be removed from the blacklist.

Thank you for getting in touch.

I certainly understand your concerns regarding this. Please note though
that the fact you may be seeing a Dreamhost IP address on the
UCEPROTECTL3 blacklist is due to UCEprotect’s decision to “block” entire
network ranges rather than individual IP addresses they have actually
confirmed are sending spam.

We view this wholesale blocking of entire networks with their Level 3
list as nothing more than an attempt to drive revenue through their paid
“express delisting” service. Additionally, as a responsible hosting
provider, we are happy to investigate any specific IP addresses that RBL
services confirm are spamming but UCEprotect does not provide that
information without being paid. These types of transactions are not
something we will engage in.

Thankfully most email administrators understand that blocking entire
networks is not a responsible action for dealing with spam that is likely
being sent from a comparatively small number of individual IP addresses.
As such the UCEPROTECTL3 list is not widely used and the chances that
your email delivery is now or ever will be affected by any Dreamhost IP
showing up on that list are extremely small.

With that said, if you have received a rejection message saying that
there is an issue due to UCEProtect, please provide the full text and
headers of that message and we’ll be happy to look into it for you.

You can do what you wish with the info provided. For your reference, here
is Microsoft and Sucuri talking about this as well.

I have personally confirmed that IP addresses from our network that
haven’t been used in over 5 years are currently blocked by UCEprotect. 🙂
